Bridging the skills gap: How universities can partner with employers

After meeting with James Massey, a 2x founder and current AI & Web3 lead at Google, our Founder, William, remarked – “Visiting Google and spending time with James was truly enlightening. In light of recent changes in student finance, it’s more crucial than ever for students to graduate with degrees that genuinely prepare them for meaningful careers. However, there is a growing concern that the divide between university curricula and the skills needed in the workplace has never been wider.”

It is clear that this gap must be addressed. The School of Innovation (TSOI) is dedicated to collaborating closely with employers to gain a deep understanding of their specific needs. Research conducted from a distance can never replicate the invaluable insights gained from walking around an office, sharing a meal, or engaging in casual conversations with team members about their current challenges.

By narrowing the divide between university education and real-world employment, The School of Innovation aims to ensure that its students are fully equipped to excel in their careers after graduation. What's more, TSOI has already actively collaborated with a broad range of employers, to conduct research and refine our offering. We will also be able to leverage our insights and strategic partnerships with employers to ensure that TSOI students have an experience which truly prepares them to thrive in the world of work. Thus, taking an important step towards bridging the gap between higher education and employment.
